Empire College Donates to the FJC!

The photo was taken on August 24th when they and one of Monica’s classes toured the FJCSC. In the photo, they are presenting the FJCSC with a check in the amount of $674.33, which was raised by a student group of the College.

Specifically, there is an on-campus group called Empire Legal Students Association, who planned and conducted a fundraiser on May 11, 2012, with a dinner, silent auction, and bingo night for the friends and family of Empire College. This fundraiser would help raise money to allow legal students to attend seminars on scholarship funds. In addition, the group decided to present the Family Justice Center Sonoma County with 33% of their fundraising efforts!

The Empire College students are working to bring their fundraising efforts to the $1000 level so that they can have their contribution recognized on the donor tree, located in the FJCSC lobby. Fantastic!

Roy and Sherie Hurd, the President and VP of Empire College, respectively, also participated in the presentation and the tour of the FJCSC.
